Information and Education Vital for Girls, Women
Betty Odallo, advocacy advisor for Africa at the Center for Reproductive Rights, published an op-ed in The Nation.Africa titled “Information and Education Vital for Girls and Women.” The opinion piece draws from the findings of a new report by the Center and the Trust for Indigenous Culture and Health, which revealed that women and girls in Nairobi lack access to comprehensive sex education and reproductive health care, despite a constitutional amendment in Kenya. Odallo explains that “the results pointed to a disconnect between the promise of the Constitution and the reality in terms of women’s and girls’ access to and enjoyment of sexual and reproductive health and rights.”
