New Resource Brings a Human Rights Approach to Abortion Care in Crisis Settings
A new report by the Center for Reproductive Rights and Ipas was featured in a Ms. Magazine article, titled “New Resource Brings a Human Rights Approach to Abortion Care in Crisis Settings.” The report “aims to help abortion care providers understand and manage their legal risks in areas hostile to abortion rights,” such as areas where people have been displaced by natural disasters or conflict. The article notes that the report “emphasizes the importance of approaching abortion care with a human rights perspective, arguing governments have an obligation to ‘respect, protect and fulfill sexual and reproductive health and rights during conflict and humanitarian emergencies.’”
