Integrity of the Court Amicus Brief
Amici are professors writing in the areas of constitutional law, criminal law, and criminal procedure. The brief argues that allowing Texas to evade judicial review of a blatantly unconstitutional law would damage the Court’s legitimacy, undermine faith in the Court as a non-ideological institution, and give other states the green light to enact similar schemes that strive to erode other fundamental constitutional protections.
This brief was filed in support of Whole Woman’s Health et. al. v. Jackson et. al. the Center’s lawsuit at the U.S. Supreme Court challenging Texas’s abortion ban (S.B. 8).
