Amicus Brief in Idaho v. United States and Moyle et al. v. United States
The Center for Reproductive Rights submits an amicus brief on behalf of pregnant patients describing their harrowing medical experiences in Idaho, Texas, and other states with abortion bans around the country. These patients were denied or delayed care for obstetrical emergencies.
Because Idaho has claimed in this case that EMTALA frustrates state law intended to protect human life, Amici submit sworn evidence of their personal medical care experiences showing that, in fact, state medical exceptions do not adequately protect pregnant patients, and state abortion bans put their lives at risk without regard for their health or future fertility.
