Healthcare Fairness for New York’s Finest
Two NYPD unions, the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association (PBA) and the Detectives’ Endowment Association (DEA) offer prescription health insurance plans that don’t cover prescription birth control like other prescription drugs. The three other unions representing higher ranking officers, however, do provide their members with birth control coverage. This means only PBA and DEA officers are forced to pay in full for this common and necessary prescription drug.
Can you think up a good reason why? We can’t. And we want to help.
If you think forcing PBA and DEA union members to pay more money for prescriptions is unfair, you’re not alone. Talk to us confidentially: email us at [email protected] or call us: 917-637-3664.
Change starts with you. If you think all of New York’s Finest deserve healthcare fairness, send an email to the Policewomen’s Endowment Association (PEA) and make your voice heard.
