Gender and Sexuality in Latin America: A Casebook
The Center is thrilled to launch Gender and Sexuality in Latin America – Cases and Decisions, an English language translation of La Mirada de los Jueces: Género y Sexualidad en Jurisprudencia Latinoamericana. Originally a Spanish language casebook, Gender and Sexuality highlights the role of judges in Latin America, and includes cases focused on gender and sexual rights. On June 7, 2013, we officially launched the casebook at the conference “Gender, Sexuality, and Human Rights in the Caribbean,” held at the University of the West Indies. The Center hosted a panel and reception to highlight the book, and speakers included Commissioner Tracy Robinson, Rapporteur on the Rights of Women for the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights.
