Pro-Choice States Amicus Brief in Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. FDA

Amici are 23 states and the District of Columbia (New York, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawai’i, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin, and the District of Columbia).

Amici urge that the continued availability of mifepristone for medication abortion is critical to safeguarding amici States’ important interest in protecting the health, safety, and rights of their residents, including an interest in ensuring safe access to essential reproductive health care. Medication abortion is safe and effective and indispensable to reproductive health care and absent a stay, the District Court’s order would have devastating consequences.
