Editorial: Abortion Rights Triumphed from Coast to Coast
In an editorial published following the November 2022 U.S. elections, the Los Angeles Times editorial board describes how voters across the country demonstrated their resounding support for abortion rights by voting to approve three ballot measures to protect abortion rights–in Michigan, California, and Vermont–and rejecting an anti-abortion measure in Kentucky. The board writes, “voters made their wishes clear–they want to maintain their access to abortion” in “a powerful and profound statement that must not be ignored.”
Nancy Northup, President and CEO at the Center for Reproductive Rights, is quoted: “It may be a new day in the way this issue is being thought about. I hope this will be seen as a nonpartisan issue that is about rights and health.”
