The Center’s report Imposing Misery, released in 2007, highlighted the devastating effects of an Executive Order (EO) that, for the past ten years, has acted as a de facto ban on modern forms of contraception in Manila City, the Philippines. The report chronicled the harm the EO has had on women and families in Manila City. The updated edition includes a new section that describes the efforts of the Center and its partners to reverse the EO and to guarantee women’s reproductive rights in the Philippines.
