Human rights defenders stand up and speak out to defend the rights of everyone. Unfortunately, human rights defenders can be targeted by those who perceive defenders’ activities to threaten their interests. Because they take risks to promote the human rights we all enjoy, human rights defenders deserve our support and protection.
