D. v. Ireland: Amicus Brief
Introduction1. These written comments are submitted by the Center for Reproductive Rights pursuant to leave granted by the President of the Chamber in accordance with Rule 44 § 2 and § 4 of the Rules of the Court. They address the question of whether restrictive abortion laws—particularly those that prohibit abortion in cases of fetal impairment—and restrictions on abortion-related information and referrals violate the state’s obligations under international law to protect a woman’s rights to dignity, privacy, life, health, and nondiscrimination.
