Center Named Top Reproductive Rights Non-Profit by Philanthropic Experts

(PRESS RELEASE) The Center for Reproductive Rights is honored to be named one of the top high-impact organizations working on women’s reproductive health, rights, and justice by the philanthropic organization Philanthropedia. This year, Philanthropedia surveyed a large group of funders, researchers, nonprofit senior staff and government officials who have an average of 18 years in the field and asked them to identify those non-profit organizations that were making the largest impact in reproductive health. As a result, laws and policies in more than 50 countries have been strengthened. The Center’s accomplishments include: winning the first abortion case before the United Nations Human Rights Committee, liberalizing Nepal’s abortion law, one of the strictest abortion laws in the world, successfully taking the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to court for allowing politics to influence its refusal to make emergency contraception available without a prescription to all age groups, and protecting teens’ access to confidential reproductive healthcare across the U.S.
