Center for Reproductive Rights Statement on the Confirmation of Jeff Sessions for U.S. Attorney General

“Jeff Sessions has a troubling history of attacking women’s constitutional rights and we have serious concerns about his confirmation as Attorney General,” said Nancy Northup, president and CEO of the Center for Reproductive Rights. 

“From voting to defund Planned Parenthood to opposing a woman’s constitutional right to safe, legal abortion, Sessions has an extreme record that’s deeply out of touch with the needs of women and their families.  Rather than using his confirmation hearing to assure women that their rights would be protected and respected, he doubled down on his alarming agenda.
