State Court Abortion Litigation Tracker Launched by the Center for Reproductive Rights and the Brennan Center for Justice
Tool aggregates litigation against abortion bans in state courts since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.
The Center for Reproductive Rights and the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU Law have teamed up to launch the State Court Abortion Litigation Tracker to aggregate litigation in state courts against abortion bans since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June 2022.
The tracker will include pending and completed state court litigation against abortion bans that were, or would have been, unconstitutional under Roe.
After the Court’s ruling eliminating the constitutional right to abortion, anti-abortion lawmakers in several states rushed to enforce abortion bans and restrictions, spurring a slate of emergency litigation to protect reproductive rights under state law. Over 30 cases have been filed in 19 states thus far.
