Brought by the Center for Reproductive Rights on behalf of three women denied abortion care and two physicians, Blackmon v. State of Tennessee challenges the limited scope of the “emergent medical condition” exception to Tennessee’s total abortion ban. On January 8, 2024, four additional women joined the case, bringing the total number of plaintiffs to nine.
