1557 Comment Submission Toolkit
The administration has proposed a rule that would strip away civil rights and allow healthcare professionals to discriminate. Now that the proposed rule on Sec. 1557 of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) has been published the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is required to take public comments before making the rule permanent.
The Center for Reproductive Rights has created a toolkit for individual legal leaders and bar associations interested in submitting a comment. The toolkit includes an overview of the public comment process, a template and information about how to write an impactful comment, and key data to support the comment. As a legal leader, your voice matters! Please consider one or both of the following simple actions:
- Download the toolkit and submit a comment.
- Download the toolkit and work with your bar association to submit a comment. If your bar association needs support in developing a comment, please feel free to reach out to the Lawyers Network team at [email protected].
The comment submission deadline is August 13, 2019 and we recommend that submissions be made close to this date due to opposition responses. Let us know if you submitted a comment by emailing [email protected].
