Sofia Khan
Sofia Khan is the Legal Fellow for Asia, Europe, and Latin America and the Caribbean. Ms. Khan joined the Center from Milbank, Tweed, Hadley and McCloy LLP, where she was a Litigation Associate. She received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2007, where she was a Senior Editor of the Georgetown Journal of International Law and actively involved in Georgetown’s International Women’s Human Rights Clinic. As a law student, Ms. Khan worked on women’s rights in Tanzania where she assisted the Women’s Legal Aid Centre with legislation reform and impact litigation around marital rape and discriminatory child support laws. She has also worked with Sanctuary for Families in New York, where she represented immigrant victims of domestic and gender based violence. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Khan graduated from SUNY Stony Brook with a B.A. in Sociology.
