Maxine Mitchell

Maxine Mitchell joined the Center in 2011 and is the Communications Associate. Prior to joining the Center, Ms. Mitchell worked for Pro-Media Communications, a bi-coastal communications firm dedicated to advancing social justice, equality and progressive issues.  At Pro-Media, Ms. Mitchell implemented comprehensive communications plans and coordinated media relations on behalf of advocacy organizations and clients representing a wide range of issues, including access to healthcare, women’s rights, and education reform. In addition to creating press materials and coordinating special events, she successfully worked on public education campaigns and special projects geared towards breaking down socio-economic disparities and supporting marginalized communities.  

Ms. Mitchell received a BA in Media and Communications from the University of the West Indies and a Master of Arts in Corporate Communication from Baruch College.
