David Brown

David Brown, Legal Fellow

David Brown is a Legal Fellow with the U.S. Legal Program. Before joining the Center, he was associated with the law firm of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton.  Mr. Brown graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School, where he served on the editorial board of the Michigan Journal of International Law, and published a Note entitled “Making Room for Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity in International Human Rights Law: An Introduction to the Yogyakarta Principles.” 

Before law school Mr. Brown was a grant officer for the Latin America program of American Jewish World Service, and obtained his bachelor’s degree from Pomona College.  He serves as a boardmember of the Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund, a civil rights organization, and MTWorks, a theater company.
