KSBI-TV 52: Abortion Law Deemed Unconstitutional


Judge Vicki Robertson says Senate Bill 1878 violates the single subject rule. It lumps five different issues into one bill.

"The bill is a compilation of 5 different laws and the Constitution is very clear that each separate law should be a separate vote from the legislators. This was an ominous provision. The intent was to intimidate and stigmatize women seeking abortion and physicians providing that care," said Stephanie Toti, Reproductive Services, Attorney.

Toti represents Reproductive Services, a Tulsa clinic that filed the lawsuit against the state. She says the law did violate the single subject rule but those in favor of the law disagree.
